Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

SampleLabs (samplelabs.ai) makes AI sound tools for music producers: the sample generator on this site and AIME, a Mac app that works inside Logic Pro. This policy says what we collect, why, who helps us run the service, and what you can ask us to do with your data.

2. What we collect

When you make an account:

• Your email address, and your name if you give it
• Your password, stored only as a one-way hash, or your Google account's name, email and picture if you sign in with Google
• Anything you add to your profile, such as a picture or a short bio

When you use the site:

• The prompts you write and the samples generated from them
• Your credits, favourites, cart and purchases
• Your settings, and when you were last active

Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; Stripe tells us what you bought and whether the payment went through.

3. How we use it

• To run your account, generate your samples and keep them for you
• To take payments and keep the records the law requires
• To send emails you need, such as verifying your address or receipts
• To answer you when you contact us
• To keep the service secure and fix problems

We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.

4. Who helps us run the service

These companies process data for us, only for the jobs listed:

• Vercel: hosts the site
• Neon: our database, in London
• Cloudflare R2: stores the audio files you generate
• ElevenLabs and Stability AI: generate sounds from your prompts (they receive the prompt, not your account details)
• Stripe: payments
• Resend: sends our emails
• Google: sign-in, if you choose it

Some of them work outside the UK and the EU. Where they do, they use the safeguards the law requires, such as standard contractual clauses.

5. Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to keep your session secure. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your account, samples and settings while you have an account. When you delete it, we delete them within 30 days, apart from payment records, which we keep for as long as tax law requires (usually six years).

7. AIME, the Mac app: what it can't do

When AIME can't do something you ask in Logic Pro, it sends us a short note about it, so we build what people need next. This is on by default; turn off “Share what AIME can't do” in AIME's menu to stop it. Each note has what AIME couldn't do (for example “drawing automation points”), the part of Logic involved, the AIME and Logic Pro versions, and a random ID that AIME makes on your Mac. It has no name, email or account, and nothing from your projects.

Your own words go with a note only when you press Report in AIME yourself. We read these notes to decide what AIME learns next and keep them for up to 12 months. To have an install's notes deleted, email support@samplelabs.ai with the ID shown in AIME's menu.

8. Your rights

You can ask us to:

• Give you a copy of your data
• Correct anything that's wrong
• Delete your account and data
• Stop or limit how we use it

Email support@samplelabs.ai and we'll reply within a month. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk).

9. Children

SampleLabs isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has given us data, email us and we'll delete it.

10. Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the date at the top. If a change matters, we'll email account holders first.
